Brown Boat For Sale

The Broads One Design (Brown Boat) was designed at the request of members of the Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club in 1900 with the aim of creating a yacht that was both capable of sailing inshore off Lowestoft, and also suited to sailing on the Broads.

31 Boats were built in wood over a period of 38 years, with more being to added to the class since 1987 constructed in GRP. The class now numbers over 80 in total and remains very active today, with the design having proven itself to be both very safe and capable at sea, and very competitive when raced against other Broads classes. BODs are affectionately known as “Brown Boats” due to their beautiful varnished hulls.
